Gearing Up Off Road is a Mountain Bike Skills Award, certified by the National Cycling Federation, Cycling Ireland. The program is action packed, designed to develop new skills and build confidence, helping candidates to enjoy cycling and respect the outdoors.
The program is delivered by Biking.ie over two days, with activities taking place in the school yard or the local park. On completion, students are presented with a National Governing Body Certificate. The program is aimed at secondary school students, youth groups, scout groups and all levels of cycling ability are catered.
It is widely recognised that the skills involved in mountain biking cross over into everyday cycling.
